Originating from the famous Knott’s Berry Farm in California, this superb hybrid berry is a cross between a blackberry, loganberry and a raspberry. Round to oblong, reddish-purple fruits have a unique flavour that combines the tartness of good old-fashioned wild blackberries with a sweet hint of raspberry. The delicious crop can be harvested from July to September and can be eaten fresh or used for bramble and apple jelly or pie fillings. Boysenberries are undemanding and extremely easy to grow.
