bush honeysuckle £12.99
Position: full sun or partial shadeSoil: fertile, well-drainedRate of growth: averageFlowering period: May to JuneFlower colour: tiny yellow flowersOther features: beautiful foliage colourHardiness: fully hardyRecently developed in the USA, this fascinating introduction is the first variegated form. Its white-edged, green foliage holds its colour well and is perfect for illuminating partially shaded spots, where it will tolerate some drought once it has had a chance to become established. A close relative of Weigela, it forms a densely branched, rounded, deciduous shrub and produces tiny yellow flowers in late spring and early summer.Garden care: Cut back to a low, permanent framework each spring as the buds are beginning to swell, and apply a generous layer of mulch around the base of the plant.

Chyrsanthemum
Chyrsanthemum £5.99
Position: full sunSoil: well-drained soilRate of growth: fastFlowering period: July – OctoberFlower colour: RedOther features: make good cut flowersHardiness: fully hardy but protect from excessive winter wet Burgundy buds open to reveal glowing scarlet ‘petals’ surrounding a radiant yellow centre. These plants are easy to grow and great value for money as they will usually produce lots of flowers over a long period of time. A firm favourite for the garden as they will carry on flowering when many other plants have given up completely. This variety is made for a ‘hot bed’ so mix it with late flowering yellows and oranges for a shock of colour.Garden care: Insert twiggy prunings early in the season to provide invisible and effective support.Apply a thick 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch around the base of the plant in Spring, taking care not to cover the crown.
