This collection comprises 10 tubers each of 3 tasty varieties that will provide you with tasty potatoes for the whole season. An early crop of Accord (First Early) – A high-yielding early variety, producing a good crop of attractive, uniformly-shaped, oval tubers, with bright creamy-white skins and tasty creamy-white flesh. Good resistance to common and powdery scab; Maxine (Second Early) – Beautiful round, smooth rosy red tubers that are very popular with exhibitors. The white flesh is firm and waxy and boils and bakes well. Flavour is excellent; and finishing up with Valor (Maincrop) – One of the latest maincrops to mature but well worth the wait. Valor gives an excellent yield of large creamy white tubers that store well. Tubers have a dry firm texture and are good for baking and boiling. A vigorous grower with excellent all round disease resistance. All 3 are ideal for container or garden growing. Our seed potatoes are inspected by the relevant certifying authority and that number is featured on the bag labels (within riddle size 30mm x 60mm). This eliminates over-large and very small potatoes. IMPORTANT – Immediately upon arrival unpack your seed Potatoes and keep them in trays in a light, airy, frost free place to sprout prior to planting in March/April. Planting – depth 10cm (4″); Spacing in row – 30cm (12″); Width between rows – 60-70cm (24-28″). Soil should be well-worked and rich in humus (farm-yard manure or garden compost). Earth up two to three times as the top grows, to avoid green tubers. Feed with a balanced fertiliser and always keep your potatoes watered well during dry periods to ensure a good crop. In PATIO CONTAINERS/GROW BAGS: Try Lady Christl, Maxine, Winston or most early varieties. We recommend one tuber to a 20 litre pot. In grow bags, reduce length by a third to give more depth and plant 2 tubers to a bag. If growing this way, the compost will need to be well watered. If any potatoes come to the surface, cover with more compost or black plastic to prevent the tubers turning green. 14-21 days ORDER DESPATCH – Potatoes are sent separately from your seed order and will be despatched from December onwards, weather permitting.
