The fruit are ready to pick in October and should then be stored for a few weeks to fully develop their truffle-like flavour. A fine accompaniment to wine and cheese! A beautiful gage plum, in the continental style, that are ready from mid August. The fruits are larger than greengages and ripen to a golden green tinged with pink, and the flesh has a honey sweetness that is really best enjoyed straight from the tree – absolutely delicious! Pear Nashi Chojuro 1 Tree

This Asian pear is quite different to its European cousins! Found in 1895 in Japan, it is an extremely productive early-midseason variety producing large, roundish, russet-skinned fruit with crisp, white, slightly aromatic, butterscotch-flavoured flesh. Best when allowed to ripen fully on the tree, it is also a good winter keeper.Pears are one of the easiest of garden fruit trees with very few pest, disease or other cultural problems.
