Many people grow figs against a wall, but for something a little different why not grow one of our beautiful standard plants, which will look superb on your patio. Brown Turkey is the most reliable fig for the UK climate and in late August to mid September produces a heavy crop of purple-brown fruits with sweet red flesh – harvest and enjoy! Plants are very vigorous and growth should be limited by restricting the roots to a large container (which will also encourage fruit formation). Supplied in a 4 litre pot. Full growing instructions included. If you have a bare south-facing wall on your garage, shed or even your house, then waste it no longer. Figs will not only produce an attractive display of foliage, but also provide a bountiful harvest. They’re very vigorous, so growth should be limited by restricting the roots to a large container (which will also encourage fruit formation). Alternatively they can easily be trained on the wall and pruned to fit the required space.
