Pear Tree – Duo Beurre Hardy/Williams Bon Chretien £21.99
Duo tree has been grafted with two delicious pear varieties: Beurre Hardy – A classic French dessert pear from the early 1800s, whose medium-to-large fruits boast soft, buttery flesh with an excellent flavour. Pick when still firm and ripen indoors for best quality fruit. Ready to harvest from early autumn. Maximum height 2.5-3m (8′-10′).Williams Bon Chretien – Usually just called Williams pear. Large, sweet smooth and very juicy! It turns yellow when ripe, and while a superb eating pear, it’s also great for stewing. Reliably heavy-cropping. Cherry Tree – Duo Bigarreau Napoleon/Variks Black £21.99
Duo cherry tree has been grafted with these two lovely cherries and both varieties crop late July-early August: Bigarreau Napoleon – Large yellow fruits with deep red flush. Variks Black – A sweet, dark-skinned cherry. Given that cherries are such a well-loved fruit, its surprising that they are not more widely grown in our gardens. Grown on Colt rootstock, giving a very productive tree with good fruit size, but compact growth so it can be grown in a small space, either free-standing or trained against a wall or fence.
