Crocus has these new lines today

Philodendron 'Xanadu' (philodendron)

Philodendron ‘Xanadu’ (philodendron) £24.99
Position: bright filtered or indirect light Soil: fertile: good potting compost Rate of growth: fast Hardiness: tender (indoors only) This good-looking shrubby houseplant is virtually indestructible. It will grow in most settings and it has really attractive leaves that form at the ends of the splaying stems. If you want something substantial to fill a corner, then this is just the thing. Home care: Water freely when in growth, but keep dryer in winter. Mist the leaves regularly with water to increase humidity and every so often put it under a cold shower to wash off the leaves. Make sure the winter temperatures stay above 10C, and repot every couple of years.

Philodendron scandens (heart-leaf)

Philodendron scandens (heart-leaf) £19.99
Position: bright filtered or indirect light Soil: fertile: good potting compost Rate of growth: fast Hardiness: tender (indoors only) This is a fast growing climber, which comes attached to a xxxxcm high moss pole. It has lustrous heart-shaped leaves that get bigger and bigger (up to 30cm long) as the plant matures. Easy to grow, it will tolerate some shade and looks good throughout the year. Home care: Water freely when in growth, but keep dryer in winter. Mist the leaves regularly with water to increase humidity and every so often put it under a cold shower to wash off the leaves. Make sure the winter temperatures stay above 10C, and repot every couple of years.

Dracaena 'Lemon Lime' (dragon plant)

Dracaena ‘Lemon Lime’ (dragon plant) £12.99
Position: prefers light shade, but close to a window Soil: fertile: good potting compost Rate of growth: average to fast Hardiness: tender (indoors only) This is an undemanding houseplant, with colourful foliage that is a mixture of green, cream and lime stripes. As it grows, it forms a tree-like stem with the foliage on top, and as it matures it will usually start to form sideshoots. A good choice if you are looking for something that will eventually get quite tall, without taking up too much floorspace. Home care: Water well in the growing season, but less so in winter. Misting the leaves with water will help keep the humidity levels high, as well as keeping the leaves dust-free. Repot in spring every couple of years and keep temperatures above 10C in winter.

Davallia humata tyermanii 'Bunny' (hares foot fern)

Davallia humata tyermanii ‘Bunny’ (hares foot fern) £7.99
Position: bright, indirect light Soil: fertile: good potting compost Rate of growth: average Hardiness: tender (indoors only) The foliage of this plush fern is a rich green, and it unfurls from softly hairy rhizomes that creep along the top of the compost and eventually dangle over the sides of the pot. This is one of the easiest ferns to grow. It will flourish in a brightly lit spot (away from direct sunlight), and as it loves high humidity, is happiest in bathrooms or kitchens – ideally away from radiators. Home care: Water regularly in the growing season – less in winter and in areas of low humidity, mist the leaves with water on a regular basis, or place the pot on pebbles in a tray filled with water. Maintain temperatures above 10C in winter and avoid summer temperatures above 25C. Repot in spring when the plant becomes root-bound.

Aglaonema 'Jubilee Compacta' (Chinese evergreen)

Aglaonema ‘Jubilee Compacta’ (Chinese evergreen) £7.99
Position: bright, indirect light Soil: fertile: good potting compost Rate of growth: slow Hardiness: tender (indoors only) This easy-going houseplant has highly pattered sword-shaped foliage, which will help liven up a spot away from direct sunlight. As the name suggests, this is a relatively compact plant that is quite slow growing, so it does not need repotting very often and will look best placed on a sideboard or coffee table. Home care: Keep away from draughts and water sparingly in winter. Maintain temperatures above 16C and mist the leaves regularly to increase humidity. Repot (preferably into a shallow pot) every 3 years or so in spring.
