It is relatively short-lived, but you should get a couple of years out of it and it does put on a really impressive show. It will also set seed if it is happy in its given spot, so you will have more plants that will happily take the place if the parent when the time comes. Garden care: Avoid excessive feeding as this will usually encourage leafier growth and fewer flowers. Provide support when grown in more exposed locations.

Garden care: To maintain the plant’s distinctive shape remove any misplaced or diseased branches in winter.
