Campsis tagliabuana Plant – Madame Galen £17.99
Campsis x tagliabuana ‘Madame Galen’ is a fast growing climber, clinging by use of aerial roots, growing up to 12 metres tall. Needing a sheltered site from cold winds, a lot of spreading room, it will happily climb a south facing wall with a little help from training wires or a trellis. Orangey-red trumpet-shaped flowers in the summer and autumn complement the deciduous pinnate foliage, making a bushy form. Campsis ‘Madame Galen’ is drought tolerant once established, and can be pruned to maintain size and shape in late winter or early springtime. Supplied in a 2 litre pot.

Hydrangea paniculata ‘Phantom’ an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner is a deciduous shrub producing very large, dense, upright panicles of pinkish-white flowers in late summer and early autumn. It is less particular about soil pH than many other hydrangeas, and will grow well provided there is fertile soil that does not dry out. Best grown in partial shade and sheltered from cold winds. Flowers July-September. Height 150-200cm. Supplied in a 3 litre pot.
Arbutus unedo Plant £14.99
Arbutus unedo – the strawberry tree – is a popular ornamental tree that has lovely light pink strawberry-shaped fruit. It has pinkish-brown peeling bark and bright-green glossy leaves. Small pink flowers appear in autumn, along with the fruits from the previous year’s flowers. The fruits are red and look rather like strawberries, giving the plant its name. Unfortunately, they do not taste nearly as good as strawberries; in fact the word ‘unedo’ comes from the Latin for ‘I eat one’ – implying that no-one would ever want to try more than one! Arbutus unedo grows best in full sun. It prefers a moist, well drained soil that is neutral to mildly acidic. Mature plants are fully hardy, but younger plants may need winter protection. Height 200-250cm. Supplied in a 3 litre pot.
