Rhubarb Red Champagne is a hardy perennial that is easy to grow and produces long pale pink stalks with a delicious sweet taste. What could be better than making your own rhubarb pie or jam? Home grown rhubarb always tastes the best! Rhubarb crowns are established plants that are at least one year old and will produce a crop in the harvest season after planting – much earlier than rhubarb plants that are grown from seed. They are best planted in the spring or autumn while the soil is warm and moist. Potted rhubarb plants can be planted out at any time of the year so long as the soil is not frozen waterlogged or suffering from drought. Rhubarb Red Champagne is undemanding but resents disturbance so you will need to choose a permanent spot in the garden where your plants can grow without interruption from year to year. During the first year you will need to resist the temptation to harvest the rhubarb stems so that the plants can become properly established. Stems can be harvested from April to the end of July from the second year onwards when the leaves have fully unfurled and the stems are approximately 30cm long.Quantity: 1 crown

It is a lovely creamy tasting garlic that features purple-streaked bulbs and does not keep as well as some other varieties so is best used fresh for that first taste of summer. It is quick to dry and often consumed green. It can be panted from October until January but we recommend putting it in as early as possible for the best harvest.Type: Hardy BulbHavest Period: May-JunGarlic is planted from bulb segments (cloves) so break up the bulb carefully into individual segments prior to planting. Make sure that the cloves are planted the right way up: the flatter basal plate should be facing downwards. Allow 15cm between individual cloves and 30cm between rows.
