Sow thinly 12mm deep in rows 23cm apart in well watered and good draining soil.Transplant at the 5-6 leaf stage allowing a minimum of 25x38cm between plants. Lobelia Tupa is an unusual Lobelia which is very tropical in appearance. Thick red stems carrying tropical looking orchid-like scarlet red flowers arise from a large rosette of thick leathery felted leaves. Best grown in a sheltered sunny position. Needs winter protection.Type: Hardy Perennial Flowering: Autumn Sowing:Sow seeds in trays pots etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 20-25C (70-75F). Surface sow seeds on a peat/sand mix seed compost and do not exclude light. Sowing Time: February to March. Germination usually takes 14-30 days. Growing: Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3) pots.
