The Solo by AL-KO FC 13-90.5 HD 2 WD out front deck lawn tractor is driven by a Briggs and Stratton Intek engine and uses a 2 -blade 90 cm mowing deck which has both a rear discharge & mulching function. With an out front deck lawn tractor it is much simpler to mow under bushes or hedges and on this model the deck can be folded up for maintenance and storage. The AL-KO Solo FC13-90.5HD has a 2WD hydrostatic (automatic) drive transmission. The hydrostatic drive is easy to use and drives very like an automatic car. Just press down on the accelerator pedal to go and ease off to stop.Rear steering on the FC 13-90.5 HD 2WD allows the mower to be manoeuvred around obstacles with ease so it can be used in rougher cut areas like orchards. Using the tractor in rear discharge mode is an excellent option in these areas as it allows the cutter deck to mow longer grass. These cuttings are then deposited back onto the ground where they will wilt back naturally.When using the Solo FC 13-90.5 HD two wheel drive to mulch as you mow the grass cuttings will be cut then re-cut by the two rotary blades. This cuts the grass into tiny pieces which are blown down onto the ground where they virtually disappear. The nutrient rich particles get absorbed by the soil providing additional moisture and acting as a fertiliser for the grass roots. This re-cycling of the grass cuttings can give your lawn a healthier & greener growth.
