Most honeysuckles (Lonicera periclymenum) are wild at heart: they’ll romp around and swamp less vigorous plants. But compact-growing Chic and Choc is ideal for the smaller garden, bearing deliciously scented pink-and-white flowers that mature to apricot-gold. Try growing it with clematis, Alchemilla mollis or hardy geraniums; train it onto small obelisks, or leave it to trail over the edges of patio pots. Winter-hardy down to -15C. Flowers July-September.
