Grow your very own crop of incredibly tasty blueberries on your patio – yummy! This veritable superfood is believed to carry all manner of health benefits and is recommended by health experts and dieticians accordingly. Packed full of vitamins and minerals as well as antioxidants, they are not only really good for you but they taste great too! Blueberries provide true season-long interest and will produce wonderfully fragrant tubular blossom in spring, followed by delicious fruits that form and colour up ready for picking from June onwards. This collection will provide 3 months of harvest from June until August with each bush providing up to 5kg (over 10lbs) of fruit per season once fully established. Blueberries make brilliant patio plants and will grow perfectly in pots do remember to use ericaceous (slightly acidic pH) compost though as all blueberries are lime intolerant. A real taste of hot lazy Summers, Bougainvillea grow freely in hot countries around the Mediterranean, their rich colours smothering walls and balconies in the hot sun. But they also make great Summer plans to right here. The lovely magenta pink variety ‘Alexandra; is one of the more compact and floriferous varieties, and performs well at lower temperatures in Winter too. The colour comes in fact from bracts, not flowers themselves, a little like Christmas poinsettias. The bracts turn brightest Magenta pink in summer. The flower itself is a quite insignificant – a small creamy flower, which looks like the eye of the bracts. These plants have been expertly trained into a standard form, and can easily be maintained this way outside. Although climbers, they are slower growing in the UK. Grow in large pots in full sun, and then in Winter provide Winter protection below 2C. They can lose their bracts suddenly due to stress, so do not be alarmed if they drop – new ones quickly re-appear in warm weather. A real tropical addition to the Summer garden!

These incredible Skyscraper Lilies grow so tall they look like trees! In their first year they will reach up to 1.5m (5ft) tall, but in future years, once they are fully established, they will get even taller up to 6 or even 7 foot tall eventually! These large flowered beauties arise as a consequence hybridisation between Oriental and Trumpet strains of lily hence the marriage of both species characteristics. Every flower carries a wonderful heady perfume and each individual stem can carry well over 20 blooms, which can measure well over 15cm (6in) across. This collection comprises of 15 top sizes bulbs, 3 of each variety, the same as used by commercial flower growers in Holland: – Belladonna – gorgeous soft lemon yellow – Robina – deep pink, verging towards berry purple – Invasion – cream-edged to red-purple centres, a classic two-tone Lily Grow all 5 in large pots about 15cm apart, or in groups in garden borders. They have very strong stems, so should not need support. Cut them for the long-lasting displays in the vase, or leave them to marvel at in your garden. Allow them to die down naturally after flowering, and they will build up reserves for even bigger and better displays the following year. Fully Winter hardy, they will last for many years.
