Use bark to suppress weeds

Now is the ideal time for inhibiting weed growth in beds & borders

Rolawn Landscaping BarkNow is the ideal time to apply a bark mulch to beds and borders before plants get too large and weeds begin to grow. Applying a thick layer of bark to a depth of 50mm will inhibit weed growth, reduce moisture loss and insulate plant roots.

Weeds should be removed from the borders first, before covering the soil with a generous layer of bark. Light needs to be excluded to prevent germination of weed seeds, therefore we recommend a minimum depth of 50mm (2 inches). Take care not to pile the bark up directly around the base of plants to avoid rotting.

Rolawn Landscaping Bark is a mid-dark brown, multi-purpose grade bark. It is a natural product derived from forestry woodchip. A bulk bag contains approximately 1,000 litres and covers 20 square metres to a depth of 50mm.

New for 2011 – Landscaping Bark is also available in 60 litre bags.
