Monday, January 10th, 2011

Fantastic new plants at Jersey Plants Direct! They have introduced some new plants to the carniverous plants range this year!
Many of them are also available as 3 for 2 offers.
The Sarracenia Purpurea is also known as the purple pitcher plant or side-saddle flower. The species is the floral emblem of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, which gives a good indication that this particular one is very hardy!
The venus fly trap is one of the best known insectivore plants! If yours don’t have much luck catching flies you can place tiny bits of meat (or flies if you can catch them) on the plant and watch it do it’s stuff!
