This latest variety of purple asparagus is significantly sweeter than even the sweetest green asparagus. The spears have less fibre and are particularly tender. A very attractive addition to salads, retaining their colour when steamed, particularly in the early part of the season. Expect the first spears to appear in late April. 12 crowns plants a row 4.5m (15′) long.Note: Asparagus Crowns will be despatched from late March/early April 2011, which is the correct time for planting. Shallots Yellow Moon 400g Pack £3.75
An attractive and tasty, round, yellow dutch shallot, with excellent skin quality and a low sensitivity to bolting, which makes it a good choice for autumn planting.
