Plug plants are ideal for creating great hanging baskets, tubs and other containers as well as planting out in the ground. The cheaper 7p ones need growing on – that means allowing to grow a bit more before you put them out. If you don’t want to do this because of time and effort you can spend a little more and get the bigger plants which are ready to put out in the garden.
Plug plants are ideal for autumn and winter bedding plants. They are bright cheerful flowering plants that will keep your garden looking amazing through the winter.
What is a plug plant? Don’t think about the plug in your kitchen sink, instead think about the solid plug of roots that plants have – they’re grown in small pots designed to encourgae good root growth and it’s this little plug of root that gives them the name.
