Spring flowers in pink (a potted collection for spring - pink)

Spring flowers in pink (a potted collection for spring – pink) £19.99
Position: bright but indirect light Soil: fertile: good potting compost Rate of growth: average Hardiness: fully hardy (includes some annuals) Current height: approximately 20cm (including trug) This is very sweet. It consists of one wirework trug (measuring 25cm long x 17cm wide x 10cm high), which has been lined with canvas (and a layer of plastic to help stop water seeping out). Then it has been planted up with an assortment of pink-flowering plants that are at their best in spring. To create a finished look, the compost has then been topped with a layer of moss. After the dispaly has finished, some of these plants can then be planted outside in the garden, where they will go on to flower again the following year. Home care: Keep well watered while the plants are actively growing, feeding with a balanced liquid fertiliser at regular intervals. Although the trugs have ben lined with plastic, care should still be taken when watering – especially if it is sitting on your best furniture.

Home care: Keep well watered while the plants are actively growing, feeding with a balanced liquid fertiliser at regular intervals. No longer seen as something outdated and old-fashioned, there are lots of new and exciting varieties, which have really incredible flowers. Like this one, emerging lime green, they turning bluish purple as it ages. You would be thrilled if someone turned up on your doorstep with it, and after it has finished flowering, you could plant it outside in the garden, where it would go on to flower for many years to come. Narcissus 'Tête-à-tête' in glass pot (miniature daffs in a glass pot)

Narcissus ‘Tête-à-tête’ in glass pot (miniature daffs in a glass pot) £8.99
Position: bright filtered light, or outside in full sun or partial shade Soil: good potting compost, or outdoors in well-drained soil Rate of growth: fast-growing Flowering period: usually late winter and spring, although they can be brought on (ie. ‘forced’) when grown indoors Hardiness: fully hardy Current height: approximately 40cm (including pot) Nothing heralds spring in quite the same way as a bunch of daffodils and their sunshine yellow colour always works wonders for the soul. This is one of the most popular forms as is famed for producing a loads of flowers on each plant. These have been potted up into a glass vase that can be placed on a bright windowsill until the flowers fade. Then plant them up outside and over the years they will spread to form a generous clump that will flower year after year. Please note: the pattern on the glass pots can vary. Garden care: While indoors, keep the plant in a cool room that gets lots of light. Water when dry, but make sure the excess water does not sit in the bottom of the pot for any length of time. After they have finished flowering, pop on some gloves and plant the bulbs 10-15cm deep outside in the gaden. Give them a feed with a balanced fertiliser, dead-head and allow the leaves to die back naturally.
