Soil improver £21.99
One application will improve your soil for years to come! When planting trees or shrubs, simply add 100g to the planting hole, or add 5g per plant when transplanting vegetables and bedding plants. 1kg will enrich 1 square metre. GroChar was inspired by Amazonian Indians who used charred plant matter to enrich their poor, infertile soils. It is produced in the UK by a clean technique which captures up to 70% of the carbon that would otherwise be released in to the atmosphere by burning or decaying. It remains in the soil almost indefinitely, improving soil structure and water penetration. It is also enriched with mycorrhizal fungi, seaweed and wormcasts, to provide a fertile base for your plants. GroChar is organic, peat-free and Soil Association approved. Supplied in a 4.5kg bucket with handle, for easy transporting around your garden.

Flower Seeds – Marigold(Tagetes) Paprika was £1.99 now £1.59
Masses of small red daisy-like flowers with a golden centre smother Marigold(Tagetes) Paprika all summer long. This pretty Signet marigold(Tagete) has a neat mound-forming habit with finely cut citrus scented foliage that smells fabulous as you brush past it. This exceptionally pretty marigold makes a vibrant addition to cottage garden borders beds and containers for a colourful long lasting display. Culinary note: Marigold flowers are edible with a mild citrus flavour so you can use them in sandwiches salads fish dishes and hot desserts.Flowering period: Jun-SepSowing months: Mar-AprPosition: Full sunHeight: 25cmSpread: 25cmSow marigold seed in spring on the surface of a good seed compost and gently firm down. Lightly cover the seed with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place the seed tray in a propagator at a temperature of 21-25C or seal it inside a polythene bag. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged and not exclude light as this aids germination which usually takes 7-21 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle transplant and grow them on in cooler conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When growing marigolds pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant which will produce more flowers later on. When marigold plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Transplant outdoors in any well drained soil in full sun at a distance of 30cm apart. Feed and water marigold plants regularly particularly during hot dry periods. Regular deadheading of marigold flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer. Quantity: 1 packet of 300 seeds
