Berkheya purpurea is a very easy to keep plant that has a sunny disposition to cheer up your beds and borders. This delightful thistle-like plant, originally from South Africa has the typical, slightly prickly leaves, which are good for deterring unwelcome visitors form you garden displays. The crowning glory however are the absolutely lovely light mauve sunflower blooms that appear at the top of taller stems above the foliage. A remarkably different type of flower than you would expect and once seen, you will agree it is definitely one for your collection! Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 50cm (20").
